Pesticide health hazard for banana
plantation workers in Brazil
About this video
This is an example of a major cause of health problems in developing
countries.
A France 24 Report on agricultural workers in Brazil's biggest
banana-producing area, the Ribeira Valley. Workers are unregistered and
badly paid, they buy their own tools and work without protective clothing,
under showers of pesticide sprayed from aeroplanes. Their homes, which are
among the plantations, are also showered with pesticide spray.
