DHL wins US and Brazilian approval for European contract
manufacturing
7 Feb 2011
DHL Supply Chain’s Contract Manufacturing operation at its
Life Sciences & Healthcare Campus in Nijmegen, The Netherlands, has
successfully passed two good manufacturing practice (GMP) audits. One
was with the US FDA, the second with the Brazilian FDA ANVISA.
Arjen Hellinga, Business Development Manager at DHL Supply Chain
in The Netherlands commented: “This approval is unique for a
logistics provider. It allows a number of products to go through
‘late stage customization’ — including kitting and labeling — at our
facility, prior to being exported to important markets outside the
European Union such as the US and Brazil.”
At its shared-use Pharma Grade campus in Nijmegen, DHL manages
supply chains for over 25 pharmaceutical and medical device
companies. Strategically located in the South East of The
Netherlands, the campus serves the Western European Healthcare
market, enabling further consolidation and optimized inventory
whilst maintaining excellent service levels.
