Siemens Healthcare wins UK Excellence Award
12 Nov 2010
The British Quality Foundation (BQF) has awarded Siemens
Healthcare the UK Excellence Award 2010 in recognition of outstanding
management practice and business success.
The award is the only industry standard that considers a company’s
performance across the entire range of its business activities.
The rigorous assessment process required the submission of a
detailed description of its operations against nine main criteria
and thirty two sub-criteria. Siemens Healthcare was deemed to
have met all the requisites of a successful business — such as
effective management of the organisation and delivering an excellent
service in the eyes of customers, employees and the wider healthcare
community.
Peter Harrison, Divisional Director, Imaging and
Therapy at Siemens Healthcare, said, “We are delighted to have won
the UK Excellence Award this year and believe it is imperative in
maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and driving further
improvements over the coming years.
"We continuously strive for excellence and believe it is our
responsibility to ensure that all the business operations are as
efficient and cost effective as possible. The award from BQF
demonstrates our ongoing commitment to providing customers with the
best possible products and services to ensure we remain the
recognised leader for quality management within the healthcare
industry. It is testament to a great team effort from a great team.”
Siemens Healthcare has also recently gained ISO14001 accreditation
from the British Standard Institute (BSI) for its environmental
management systems. This latest certification joins other acclaims
including ISO9001 Quality Management, OHSAS 18001 Health and Safety
and Investors in People.
