Norway prepares for swine flu with purchase of 150 Maquet
ventilators
26 August 2009
Maquet Nordic and Puls AS have announced that they have won a SEK15
million order from the Norwegian Health Authority (Helsedirektoratet)
for 140 of its Servo-i ventilators to supply hospitals across Norway
during August 2009.
“We are of course very proud to have gained the confidence of delivering
Maquet Critical Care’s highly renowned Servo-i ventilators to all of
these hospitals, enabling them to provide high quality care,” said
Thomas Lindström, Managing Director of Maquet Nordic.
”The major reasons behind Maquet winning the order are that we
understand the importance of a speedy delivery, and that we can provide
extensive clinical training," Thomas Lindström continued.
The need for an adequate supply of life-saving ventilators has become
a critical issue for pandemic planners, given that patients who have
severe flu symptoms often require such ventilatory assistance to help
them breathe.
The Servo-i ventilators ensure reliable and high quality ventilation
and are also the only ventilators that can offer neurally adjusted
ventilatory assist.
