6 January 2009
Antwerp University Hospital, Belgium has awarded Agfa HealthCare a
contract for its IMPAX Cardiovascular solution. The contract will
provide enterprise-wide access to cardiology patient records to meet the
high volume diagnostic needs of the Hospital and includes an eight-year
service, maintenance and licensing agreement.
The new system is designed to meet the image review and reporting
needs of cardiologists on a platform that supports departmental and
enterprise workflow. Employing a platform that supports both
departmental and enterprise workflow, the IMPAX Cardiovascular solution
provides image acquisition, display, reporting, storage and distribution
management from multiple cardiovascular imaging modalities.
From any cardiovascular review station, users can access images, data
and reports for point-of-care delivery in a unified and efficient
workflow.
"We selected the IMPAX Cardiovascular solution from Agfa HealthCare
for its ability to easily integrate with our existing multi-vendor,
multimodality solutions, as well as the ability of the team to meet both
our technical and clinical requirements," said Professor Vrints, Head of
Cardiology, Antwerp University Hospital.
Other decisive arguments which lead to the Antwerp University
Hospital selecting Agfa HealthCare's leading solution were the
availability of its specialized clinical applications as well as the
system's user-friendly interface. The hospital also appreciated the
solution's ability to rapidly implement new cardiovascular parameters.
A site visit to St. Jan's Hospital in Brugge confirmed the solution's
capabilities, as well as Agfa HealthCare's strong project-based approach
to implementing new solutions.
