VWR International acquires Omnilab AG

VWR International, LLC, a laboratory supply company, has announced that it has acquired Omnilab AG, a Swiss scientific laboratory supply distributor headquartered in Mettmenstetten near Zurich.

Omnilab was founded in 1990 and is one of Switzerland’s largest independent suppliers of laboratory equipment and consumables. It is a well represented name in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and industrial scientific market segments, servicing both customers in the public and private sectors.

Omnilab’s core business of supplying instrumentation, consumables and services complements VWR’s local expertise in chemicals, consumables and life science products.

Manuel Brocke-Benz, VWR Senior Vice President and Managing Director of European Operations, said, “Omnilab has the portfolio of products and customer focused services to support VWR’s further growth in Western Europe; this acquisition delivers benefits to both our customers and suppliers by providing an expanded range of products and services to the scientific community in Switzerland.”
