24 November 2005
Colorado Springs, USA. InStar Systems International has announced that it
will introduce its next-generation radiology information system (RIS), RIS
NET, at the Radiological Society of North America's annual congress at the
end of the month.
RIS NET incorporates several state-of-the-art capabilities, including
patient scheduling (drag and drop), registration, order entry, pending
appointments tracking, outside read tracking, pre-authorization tracking,
exam tracking, mammogram tracking, charge capture, billing, film tracking,
transcription/report production, electronic signature, report distribution
and management reporting.
It is built on the .Net/SQL platforms and allows freestanding outpatient
facilities, imaging centres and enterprise hospital locations to manage
patient records and exams while obtaining fast turnaround of reports.
Official release date of RIS NET is December 15, 2005.
Additionally, a fully functional trial version of InStar's Practice
Scheduler will be available during RSNA. Practice Scheduler is an
off-the-shelf product easily installed via CD by an end-user. It
incorporates advanced capabilities such as patient scheduling (drag and
drop), registration, order entry, pending and cancelled appointments
tracking, pre-authorization tracking and capture of preliminary billing
information.
Small outpatient centres and practices seeking scheduling and electronic
medical record (EMR) functionality along with those that cannot afford a
full-featured RIS will be most interested in the intuitive scheduling
interface and patient record management. Official release date of InStar's
Practice Scheduler is November 27, 2005.
"At InStar, we are continually working to enhance our product offering.
Our fully integrated, pioneering RIS helps automate the flow of information
through radiology departments, imaging centres and enterprises by
integrating best processes. These two products are no exception to our
award-wining RIS (rated best overall RIS by KLAS). They will help providers
increase scan volume, boost profitability, streamline workflow, foster
efficiencies, dramatically improve turnaround times, enhance marketing
capabilities and better position them to serve referring physicians,"
Wellbank explained.
RSNA 2005 will take place at McCormick Place in Chicago from November
27-December 2, 2005.
