Clinical study of Philips' Motiva interactive healthcare system in
Rotterdam
29 June 2005
Philips and Achmea, one of the largest health insurers in the
Netherlands, have announced plans for a large-scale clinical study of
Philips' TV-based interactive healthcare system.
It is designed to evaluate both clinical and financial outcomes:
hospitalisations, quality of life, mortality and utilization rates.
The 12-month pilot study will test the usability of the Motiva platform
on a randomised population of 630 chronic heart failure patients from eight
hospitals in the Rotterdam area of the Netherlands.
